Frances Lodriguss, a resident of Louisiana, on behalf of the estate of her brother John DeLucca, deceased, is filing suit against the United States of America for the wrongful death of decedent, a mobility impaired man. DeLucca was evacuated from his assisted living facility near Lake Pontchartrain by helicopter, following hurricane Katrina, and taken to an intersection with no shelter, food, or resources. Puerto Rico resident Julio Gonzalez-Gonzalez is filing suit against Puerto Rico Highway Authority, for the wrongful death of plaintiff's brother Jose Gonzalez-Gonzalez. Gonzalez-Gonzalez alleges that due to poor drainage on state road 111, maintained by defendant, decedent lost control of his vehicle, which spun out of control and into a wooden utility pole into a crash barrier that had previously been impacted by a motor vehicle, but not repaired. The braces of the crash barrier had been bent toward the road and pierced decedent's car, severing both of his legs. Price: $10

James Weber and Candace Palmer as the natural parents of decedent Kalieb Palmer seek damages for his wrongful death from Mesa County, Colorado, d/b/a, Department of Human Services, Debra Mapp, caseworker, and Marie and Robert Reigan, foster parents. Kalieb was put into foster care one month after his birth. He was born 8 months premature and suffered chronic lung disease, requiring him to use oxygen. Kalieb Palmer suffered apneas about 10 times a day. Palmer's foster parents failed to check the apnea monitor, as a result Palmer died at 7 months old. Price: $10

Richard Harms, a Washington resident, on behalf of the estate of Kurt Stanley Harms, deceased, is suing Lockheed Martin Corporation, seeking general and special damages for the death of Kurt Harms while working for Raytheon on top secret government contracts in Australia. Harms was killed while traveling in a vehicle operated by a Lockheed Martin employee. The driver failed to yield the right of way to a Toyota Troop Carrier, when turning right from the left hand lane of an Australian highway. Roosevelt Dean is filing suit against Gabriel Seibt and Todd Parsons, Michigan State Police Officers, alleging Dean, an African-American man was walking with a friend, a Caucasian woman, in the Greektown area of Detroit when they passed defendantss parked police car. Dean and his friend stopped to talk to an acquaintance and defendants began shouting at him get your black homeless ass down the street,, and making references to the prior police shooting death of a homeless man in Greektown. Defendants proceeded to pat Dean down and handcuff him. They drove him to another part of town and instructed him to lie down, where they uncuffed him and sprayed him in the face with pepper spray, leaving him in the alley. Price: $10

Kevin Davis, on behalf of Donise Davis, deceased, is filing suit against the United States of America and the U.S. Department of the Navy, alleging plaintiffs were being rescued by a Navy helicopter from an overpass in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina. Defendantts improperly unfastened decedent from the harness before they pulled her into the cabin by her clothes. Decedent was sucked downward by the 145 knot force of the helicopter turbulence onto the concrete road 1000 below. After decedent landed on the road the Navy helicopter pulled away leaving plaintiff and decedent on the overpass until they were rescued more than an hour later by another helicopter. Faye Madison Cly, an Arizona resident and member of the Navajo Nation, is filing a wrongful death suit against The United States of America and the Secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services Mike Leavitt, on behalf of Tom Cly, deceased. The suit alleges that defendant failed to timely diagnose decedent with sepsis, after he arrived at an emergency room., complaining of hip pain. The doctor discovered decedent was dehydrated, and had a fever. The doctor ordered blood tests, which confirmed decedent had an elevated whole blood cell count. Despite the obvious symptoms of sepsis, the doctor order decedent to return home and take a Tylenol for the pain. Tom Cly died after returning to the hospital the next day. He was finally diagnosed with sepsis, but had already suffered multi-organ dysfunction. Price: $10
Airborn Legionnaires' disease alleged in suit against foundry.
George Lynn Fleming, on behalf of the estate of his father and decedent, George Marion Fleming, is suing Western Forge Corporation for the wrongful death of Marion Fleming caused by Legionnaires' Disease. Fleming lived about 3/8 of a mile from defendant's Murphy, North Carolina manufacturing plant. Western Forge's plant utilized three water cooling towers. The water within the towers had become contaminated with Legionella pneumonphila, the bacteria which cause Legionnaires' Disease. The bacteria became airborne when the water is aerosolized during the cooling process. The air near the plant contained toxic levels of the deadly bacteria. More than half a dozen individuals in the area reported pneumonia like symptoms and respiratory distress. Price: $10
Rosebud Tribe Police and Ambulance Program sued by estate of inmate who died after seizure.
South Dakota resident Lisa Shaw, on behalf of the estate of, Joseph Benge, deceased, is filing suit against The United States of America and the Rosebud Sioux Tribe Police Department and the Rosebud Ambulance Program for survival action, cruel and unusual punishment, wrongful death, and other claims, alleging decedent suffered a seizure while incarcerated, following a traffic stop where drugs were found. The suit alleges police officers failed to respond to Benge's requests for medical attention. After another inmate alerted staff that Benge was suffering a seizure, the police finally attempted to call for an ambulance, finding all the ambulances busy, they decided to wait for the next one, rather than transport decedent in an availabe van. Decedent was pronounced dead in the emergency room, immediately after arriving at the hospital. Price: $10

The suit alleges Portage Family Services failed to protect decedent Dakota from the abundance of guns and public drug use in his home at the Trimble premises. The Probation Office negligently allowed Trimble to establish a large stockpile of weapons within his residence, although they knew of his propensity to possess and use firearms due to previous criminal records. Marguerite Ponder, on behalf on the estates of her sisters Myra Blades and Myla King, deceased, is filing suit against the U.S. Department of the Army Corps of Engineers, to recover damages for the death of decedent Blades due to Hurricane Katrina flooding. The suit alleges Blades was trapped in Memorial Medical Center during Hurricane Katrina and contracted pneumonia before she was rescued. Blades died several weeks later at a skilled nursing facility. Plaintiff and decedent King filed a lawsuit against the Army Corps for failing to use Congress appropriated funds for their intending purpose, rebuilding New Orleans' levees to withstand hurricane weather and storm surge. Woman dies after mishap during scuba certification course.
Hideki Morita, on behalf of the estate of Megumi Morita, deceased, is filing suit against Scuba Works, dba, Pastime Saipan, a corporation of the Northern Mariana Islands, for the wrongful death of decedent while on an Advanced Open Water scuba certification course. The suit alleges Morita and her companion were given very few instructions, although the instructor commented that their dive skills were poor, but she would give them the certification card anyway. During a dive decedent signaled she had a problem with her equipment. Decedent and the instructor floated up to the surface, leaving five divers below. The group was escorted back to shore by another instructor who found them alone and believing something had gone wrong alerted instructor in the area to begin a search. Decedent was found lying on the ocean floor with the regulator out of her mouth, she was pronounced dead at the hospital. The instructor's body was found floating the next morning miles away. It was extremely windy and the water was very turbulent due to a typhoon that recently passed nearby. Price: $10
